Today's post is all about the random projects I've had going lately. With the recent blizzard we were confined to the house for 3 entire days- just the girls and me- so my goal was to KEEP BUSY and finish as many projects as I could! My husband was out of town for work and it was too cold to take the girls out to play in the snow. So I had to get creative. Really creative. The day before the storm was expected to hit I made a trip to Hobby Lobby to stock up.
First on the agenda was a little thread organizer shelf. I used wood pieces that were leftover from another project, wood glue, and nails. Then I painted it black and hung it on the wall. Its the simple things that make me happy.

The next project was born out of frustration from constant digging to find the right tool while crocheting. The plastic canister

Now I have a pretty fabric hook organizer.

It folds and snaps closed from the top to prevent hooks from falling out, say, if when a kid tries to run off with it. It could will happen.

And finally, I saw a quiet book that inspired me and I just had to make my own. My teacher brain knows how important fine motor skill practice is for little fingers. And my mommy brain dreams of having a quiet activity to keep my kids engaged. Below are the first two finished pages.

The pipe cleaner stem bottoms are secured under the grass. The stem tops are sandwiched inside the flowers to hide the sharp point. The flowers snap to the page.
The shoe is for lacing practice.
Peek-a-boo! Inside is a silly photo booth snap shot of the girls with their daddy.
That's all for now!
Adorable. Thank you for letting me know you linked to my site. Can't wait to see the rest!
